Scum is what runs for office. Because they can climb the ladder. Become semi important for no important reason.
People like Carnegie or even Bloomberg were great men, they achieved a lot. The elected paid for politicians today are just puppets.
Bloomberg had nothing to gain during his time being a Mayor, a waste of time in a way. He just thought he could do a better job. A notch in his belt that needed to be made.
Jeff Bezos practically could buy the next presidency, would be very easy. But its not what he wants. He has brains and money.
But the rest of the trolls are there for their own good.

Bloomberg won't run for POTUS or maybe even governor of NYS. The man has too many issues regarding his privacy and a run for either would expose him to far too much and or have people digging into his background.
The man spent a small fortune keeping his private personal business just that during his twelve years as mayor of NYC. This includes moving many civil servants over to Bloomberg LLC where he could then enforce confidentially agreements. His entire NYPD security detail is one example.

I ran a conference years ago where Bloomberg was asked why he doenst run for president.
In not so many words and with a smirk on his face, he said that he doesnt have time to waste on the system full of fools. He is used to working with intellectuals who want to get things done.
