If you could have a free meal of your choice in any restaurant in New York City, tax and tip included, what restaurant would you choose and what would you order?

Per Se
I would order the Nine-course chef's tasting menu. $340 + $190 supplements
I would give only one instruction: "AMAZE ME."

Naturally Dom Perrignon, Chateau Margaux 1961, Chateau d'Yquem (with dessert) and a couple Beefeater martinis.

Incidentally, this would also be my last meal order if I was facing lethal injection. It would drive the warden NUTS.

Per Se hasn't been doing so good of late. Seems as if they've fallen off a bit, but I agree, if it was free, I'd take it, otherwise, I wouldn't pay $300 a head for it, not with what's being going on there. They need to step it up.

I loved Ben Benson’s and wish it were still open. Great food at a reasonable price!

What would the current equivalent of La Grenouille or Le Pavilion be? That's where I'd go .

I've always been curious about Masa and would jump at the chance to eat there. I've always wondered what makes sushi or sashimi worth $500 a plate. But not badly enough to pay to find out.

Eleven Madison Park. Always wanted to dine here.
The same chef opened up an inexpensive fast casual lunch spot “Made Nice” on West 28th which is worth a try.

Will someone else make the reservation? I'd like to go to Rao's but I don't think I know anyone who has a table.
