My high school had AC in the early 2000s, at least in some of the classrooms. I'd imagine (or hope) that all of the classrooms have them now, but haven't been back in a few years.
That's after you upgrade the system so it can handle air conditioning. Some school buildings are old- my high school building was built in 1905.
Then you'll need to find money in the school budget to pay for it, money that people might argue could be spent on other things.
As someone who has suffered through this entire summer with no air conditioning whatsoever, I would strongly argue that it is vital to the health and welfare of the kids, teachers and staff to have it in their classrooms. This is 2018, not 1958.
AC in the schools is a foolhardy waste of money because it is needed only a few days in September and a few days in May-June (whenever they let the little buggers out these days.)

I will concede that but I think these 100 degree days are only going to increase, so they'll have to bake (pun intended) heat days into the calendar the same way they do snow days now.

I do believe that you are right. Reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode. I normally like hot weather but I have had enough.
