I don't see why this would be upsetting. I think it's great to have options if I want to cash out of my Queens coop apartment and move elsewhere, although Austin, TX would not even make it to my "maybe" list (if I had a list) due to the weather.
A number of native NYC residents tend to consider NYC ideal, but after a while, the cost of living, especially for those with children tends to become a major issue.
I'm however noticing that more and more native NYC young professionals, like the guy in the below video who worked in finance, are choosing to relocate outside of NYC.
I could be wrong, but I think most native New York City residents who have no interest in ever leaving NY, have never lived outside of NY and rarely travel to other states.
Texas doesn’t appeal to me, but I absolutely cannot wait until I can realistically move to West Virginia or Maine.
