Well, thanks for all of your help! He was just able to break his lease. He will move out on November 1.

Oh, cool, there was a ghost clause in the lease.

Either that or the apartment is rent stabilized and the LL knows he can get more money when the existing tenant moves out and the next one moves in.

Wouldn't it be funny if:

1. The ghost follows him to his new address; or 2. It was the landlord's evil tactic to get a rent stabilized tenant out, and you guys will be reading in the papers about how this landlord was arrested for doing so

I have seen enough horror movies to know not to ask about possible spirits in your home. Have you not seen the Anabelle and Paranormal Activity films, lol.
