“A traffic agent can be seen writing a parking ticket for two plainclothes cops while the officers were sitting in their unmarked car in the Bronx, sources said.”
What's the big deal -- I think most of those traffic agents are recent immigrants from Bangladesh. So apparently they weren't trained how to recognize and avoid unmarked police cars with plainclothes officers sitting inside. WOW. Such a travesty.

They are trained to recognize a NYPD shield! That and no matter what their origin long since traffic enforcement was folded into NYPD those agents learned hard and fast to show proper respect/courtesy.
TAs walk and or drive up and down NYC streets and won't touch a vehicle with NYPD or many other LE cards in window. Not if they know what is good for them anyway.
Correct me if im wrong but isn't there some law that says law enforcement cannot break the traffic rules they enforce unless they are engaged in an investigation or something. Such as they cannot double park unless they are conducting an investigation, similar to running red lights, driving on the opposite side of the road, etc.....
Usually cops let other cops slide similar to having illegal tint levels on their personal vehicle and if they get pulled over they flash the badge and get away with no ticket. Maybe this traffic agent is the one that's actually following through to do what they were sworn to do and not let these 2 slide during a traffic violation while they were not in an active investigation.

There have been a red car parked in the same spot in the Bronx on 158th street and Morris Avenue for months, every weekend I drive by it and I know it has not moved because you can clearly see the dirt mark where the street sweeper goes around it every Tuesday and friday. Never once gotten a ASP ticket even though the street is cleaned twice a week. What's displayed in their window? A damn MTA hand book, not a shield, or anything stating law enforcement. Want a good laugh, walk down Morris Avenue from 161st to 158th street and count the cars belonging to the people working in the court house there illegally parked during ASP and what the put in their window is a neon vest that says police, a ticketing book, some have that paper they put on the dash, others just leave a BS note with a badge number...….they never get any tickets.

There was a vehicle parked a few blocks down from us for about nearly three months straight. Never moved for ASP or any other reason. Dirty as heck, leaves, garbage under/surrounding... In short you'd swear it was abandoned. Nope, the thing had a MD on duty card on diver's side windshield.
Asked a friend in NYPD about that and he said they don't ticket doctors "out of courtesy". "How do I know he wasn't treating someone sick"? Came an additional reply.
Only time NYPD will ticket any vehicle with card, shield or whatever in window largely seems if they are backed into a corner. That is someone high up in local or whatever politics calls the station and makes a stink. This and or media coverage shames BdeB (or any other mayor) who in turn leans on the commissioner who orders local command to make a move.
All this does is show the stupidity of the traffic agent. The cops were on duty and engaged in police work, which is why they simply ignored the boob. The ticket will be voided.

If you are good at undercover, then the traffic agent should not know who you are. They are different department. There is really nothing wrong with this.
