Yup , right about that. Who in the name of Peter is gonna want to pay $50 entry to
view the painting of a religious figure splattered in feces. Fraggin mental cases.

You can still find houses out on Long Island for less than $300k. Go far enough east you'll see stuff for less than $200k.

That's true but even Suffolk County isn't broken/failing, it's very solidly middle class and not a bad place to live

Close the bridges and tunnels, shut down the ferries. Let the city and suburbs stand separately.

Oh don't get him started on Suffolk County, he's bound to go on a tirade about how there's no place worth living based solely on the taxes-to-beach-access ratio...which logically only leaves his screen name as the only viable option to set up camp, even though its at the bottom of the list of good places to live on Long Island.

If your gonna be in the 'burbs, I think we can all agree we might as well have a beach and low taxes. After all, it's mostly those absurd taxes that is what's broken of the suburbs.

Stop and think about it.
If it wasn't for ridiculous property taxes
urban, suburban and rural sprawl would increase 10 fold over night.

There are burbs and there are burbs. Just like all cities are not the same. Detroit is not NYC. This barely applies to any NYC burbs. Really, go to Westchester and take a look.

For many hi income earners in this area (not all) the (NYC income tax + property tax) vs (suburb property tax only) is not really a deciding factor since its a wash.
