That's true but even Suffolk County isn't broken/failing, it's very solidly middle class and not a bad place to live
Oh don't get him started on Suffolk County, he's bound to go on a tirade about how there's no place worth living based solely on the taxes-to-beach-access ratio...which logically only leaves his screen name as the only viable option to set up camp, even though its at the bottom of the list of good places to live on Long Island.

If your gonna be in the 'burbs, I think we can all agree we might as well have a beach and low taxes. After all, it's mostly those absurd taxes that is what's broken of the suburbs.

There are burbs and there are burbs. Just like all cities are not the same. Detroit is not NYC. This barely applies to any NYC burbs. Really, go to Westchester and take a look.

For many hi income earners in this area (not all) the (NYC income tax + property tax) vs (suburb property tax only) is not really a deciding factor since its a wash.
It’s funny how now the city is the place to be while the burbs are where the poor live. Lol
