Interesting. It was actually more profitable as a REIT than a store. I worked a Milford, Ct one a while, shopped at Fordham Rd one while at Fordham U. Liked store.

I miss my little Deli on Broadway and 72nd street. Nice owners and great coffee!
Its been gone many years, replaced by the bank and duane reade.

Mt. Carmel Candy Store on 187th Street (Belmont). It had a great looking fountain soda setup, and the best malted/egg cream sodas I've ever tasted.

Ah, yes. The old neighborhood pharmacies thst had a spinning rack of paperback novels. Good memories.

Lamston’s. As a kid did all my Christmas shopping there. Rappaport’s. Old school toy store with narrow aisles, stacked high. Rexall drug stores; Schrafft’s.

Too many to count - but there's something funny about calling Alexander's a mom-and-pop place.

There used to be a great place on West 42nd for back-issue periodicals, which could come in handy.

And a really good hardware store on East 23rd called Vercesi.

I'd add original Full Moon Restaurant with nice, quiet dining room. Family would eat there around 8-9 each night, many generations, when I attended Fordham.
