We've all been seeing how working people are getting anxious about rising housing costs in NYC and the metro area. While in Kinokuniya Bryant Park, I came across "Nomadland" and started thinking maybe Workamping could be a more market-based approach to easing the escalating housing costs than having the government subsidize "affordable housing" units. Perhaps public lands or vacant industrial and office parks in the exburbs can be converted into these RV parks where people can camp to take on seasonal jobs (like the Holiday markets). We might be seeing less and less people being evicted from homes and occupying the shelter system.

They mostly sleep in the vehicle (an RV), which has beds and other amenities.

It’s nice to live on a private street sometimes. Park a camper here and you’ll be towed/arrested/beat up within an hour max.
