At first I thought a plane crashed at LGA but that light was too blue so my bet is on a power station blew somewhere over in Mott Haven or LIC.

Default Con Edison Transformer Explosion In Queens Lights Sky

https://newyork.cbslocal.com/2018/12...nsformer-fire/
https://www.northjersey.com/story/ne...on/2428280002/

An electric emergency at a Con Edison facility in Queens lit the night sky across much of New York City ablaze and spawned a flurry of social media reaction Thursday night.

The NYPD says a transformer exploded at the utility company’s facility in Astoria shortly after 9 p.m. Flights at LGA are grounded.

My lights flickered but didn't lose any power.

My lights flickered but didn't lose power...yet.
The power plant in Long Island City compensated for the loss of the power plant in Astoria. I saw the whole ordeal from my neighborhood in mott haven. I looked outside in mott haven. I saw it was day time. I'm like what the hell. I heard a loud humming. Ran to my roof and looked towards Astoria Queens. And boom. I saw the transformer give out. Oh well.

Ooooh... Scary. I didn't see anything looking out the window. Just had all my lights flicker off and on.

I lost power for a second or two, so I will have to re-set the alarm clock and the one on the microwave.

It was the Power Station in Astoria Queens. I saw it out of my window. My video is now viral on social media that even huffpo asked to use my video. I declined.
