Randomperson is correct. MOST of the ST apartments are rent stabilized, but not the lottery units.
I live in ST and like it very much. I would be happy to answer any questions about the development.
Shady, the lower income bracket is a very good one in that the one bedrooms for $1,500 or so are a steal. Gas and electric are included, except that you have to pay a monthly fee for each air conditioner.
The problem is that there are very few units in the lower bracket. Only 10% of the lottery apartments are for that bracket. That's why I think this lottery is very unfair.
Sorry, I really don't know. This lottery is an odd one. These are apartments that are currently occupied. So you have to wait for people to move out. You do have an excellent number though!
I know! I am so thankful. I hope I get in. They said that the numbers are active for two years and then you'll have to try again.
I hope it'll be a shorter wait than two years. I know you don't know but... what do you think? lol
I really like ST because one of the things I dislike most about Manhattan is the lack of green space just in regular neighborhoods. I grew up in a Mitchell Lama in Queens that basically is like a golf course. There is grass everywhere and trees. Really beautiful. ST reminds me of where I live.
Yes, the grounds are very nice here, especially in the spring and summer. The new ferrry stop is great, too.
One of the problems with this lottery is that there's no hard number of how many apartments are available and in which brackets. Most lottery buildings are new, so you can read on the PDF, x number of one bedrooms, x number of two bedrooms, etc. That's not the case here.
Plus, as far as I know, there's been no public accounting in the two-plus years that the lottery has been in force to show us taxpayers how our money has been spent. I would like to know!
So, sorry again, I can't even hazard a guess. But many people apply for lotteries just for fun, without being remotely qualified. So maybe the people with lower log numbers will be disqualified quickly.
Last week received an application with due 10days to be completed. They offer 1bd rent for 2886$ and 2bd for 3543$. Income range from 86000$ to 154000$
Last year taxes, saving and checking bank statements for last 6months. Current income and projected income for 2018, job verification and student status affidavit. I’m not going to send it out, unfortunately my income below 86000(((
You would have to be nuts to pay $2886 for a 1-bed with an income of $86,000!
