Are there any restaurants that serve Venison on the regular?

And what are good supermarkets in Queens to get premium cuts of steak, or chops?

I know Il Triangolo has venison sausages every now and then, but that is it. I am tired of buying crappy supermarket low end steaks. No matter what I do, they taste horrible. I need the premium cuts the steak houses buy.

Because deer are protected animals the meat can not be sold for commercial purposes so we can’t get fresh venison .. it has to come from outside the country or states that may allow it .. most comes from Canada .. usually it is frozen and shipped in.. it is usually not good ..

The steaks at the steak houses are aged by them .. they all have their own secret process

They do but they are still protected as far as commercial hunting

The steak houses not only specially age and treat the steaks in their own proprietary way but they cook in ovens capable of 800 to 1000 degrees so they sear and seal ... Peter Luger cooks them partially at 800 degrees on the plate ... they are then taken out and finish cooking on the plate to just how you want it .. these are things we can’t duplicate..

We were recently in Chicago and went to a very famous steakhouse Perfect cut .... the steaks could be cut with a fork .. they were so perfect ... dinner for two came to 350 bucks

Have you tried buying steaks at Otomanelli in Woodside? https://www.yelp.com/biz/s-ottomanel...-meat-woodside

There are also a few good butchers in Astoria, like Int'l Meat Market. But sorry, I don't really have the expertise to say whether they are the quality you'd be looking for. https://www.yelp.com/biz/internation...al+meat+market

If you're looking for a place that's easy to drive to, the one in Astoria linked above is right next to a muni meter lot at Steinway and 30th Ave.

We use Otto .. the steaks are good but they still fall short of steakhouse quality ..the venison is imported

But they also certainly purchase the best cuts too dont they? I guess you are saying it is the dry aging process, and not the cut that matters. Can I literally take any cut and dry age to perfection?

Was dry ageing steaks invented by Peter Luger?
