I wouldn't buy in BPC, but renting for a few years probably won't lead to drowning.

Manhattan can be a place for families if you can afford it or lucky enough for government assistance. That's why so many people who live in NYC are complaining about DeBlasio's plan to de-segregate school districts.
Families making $40k can also send their kids to school district where people are making over $150k.

If you don't mind the whole Deblasio Diversity plan then go ahead and move into a good area in the city where daycare for 2 kids costs as much as rent.

Look into Newport, Jersey City. Easy public transit to both Newark and Fkatiron. IF your kids are bright, there is a shot at a couple good prep schools.
