As a citizen, I am happy, but I can't say the same for those politicians. I'm pretty sure they are upset now because they are not getting the bonuses they were expecting....Aww....I'm so sorry to hear that...

NIMBY a-holes win. These people say infrastructure is bad for them and amazon would make it worse. I suppose we should stop all progress and not build anything because these snowflakes are too crammed on the train.

Bunch of crybabies, man this is such a bad ominous sign for NYC. Exodus...

Your tax dollars weren't going anywhere. It was basically Amazon paying reduced taxes to the city, not the city (or you) actually paying Amazon. Now the city gets got 100% of nothing instead of 70% of the total real actual tax bill. Great.

Yep, cutting off your nose to spite your face...

This sends a horrible message that nyc is unfriendly to big business.

Amazon is welcome to set up shop wherever they want, just lease the office space (or build) and pay taxes like anyone else.

You understand that LIC HQ 2.5 would have employed 25,000 people earning an average of $150,000 per year right?

That's almost $4 BILLION in taxable wages per year plus associated economic growth and activity good for another huge chunk in taxable revenue.

NYC is no longer competitive, it is hostile to new business moving in. Other states will gladly eat our lunch
