That's right! As much as I like economy growth, but Amazon is not something I like to see in NYC simply because my tax dollar goes into building a helipad for them.
Your tax dollars weren't going anywhere. It was basically Amazon paying reduced taxes to the city, not the city (or you) actually paying Amazon. Now the city gets got 100% of nothing instead of 70% of the total real actual tax bill. Great.

You understand that LIC HQ 2.5 would have employed 25,000 people earning an average of $150,000 per year right?
That's almost $4 BILLION in taxable wages per year plus associated economic growth and activity good for another huge chunk in taxable revenue.
NYC is no longer competitive, it is hostile to new business moving in. Other states will gladly eat our lunch
