Not likely. She has the right skin tone and gender for that district now. It would only be easier for her if she was also gay (which she basically admitted.)

Any chance Amazon will change their mind and return to NYC? Seems far fetched.

The belief that Amazon was 'chased' out of New York by some left-leaning politicians and unions is beyond ludicrous.

Amazon left because they were unwilling to come someplace where folks were not groveling at their feet, and because, frankly, the company is too chickens**t to fight publicly fight for what it wanted. Like most corporations, Amazon is much more comfortable with wheedling concessions from politicians in private than having to face the public about what it really wants. I was agnostic about their move to LIC before this: I could see some good aspects of it and some not-so-good ones. But their pull-out just showed their true colors. The company just couldn't stand to be anyplace that didn't kiss the corporate ring and the corporate arse. Any company that decides not to come here because of criticism (criticism! imagine that!) doesn't really belong in New York.

We lived without them before and we will live without them now.

No worries. Folks like AOC will pay for all the people who lose jobs when the next recession comes. Folks have short memories and forget the late 80s/early 90s, after 9/11 and from 2008-2011 when many couldn't find work.

We might be headed back to the 70s. Folks have to learn that the main driver of the economy is the private sector and when tax revenues fall the public sector lays off those who they cannot afford to pay.

Good so we await what happens with the next recession when all the hipsters have to return home unable to pay their $3k rents.

Yes recessions do come. Bezos will be perfectly fine.

I agree with Amazon for leaving as they have no need to launch the presidential ambitions of an unknown medio9cre politician named Gianaris who has yet to create ONE job. He was hoping to block the deal on national TV but Bezos deprived him of that chance.

Those who opposed it could have gone to Amazon with a community based deal tied to the project. Amazon was going to use unionized labor for construction and also for its building maintenance. A more fleshed out community benefits program could have been presented in exchange for the tax credits. De Bozo could have also forced Van Bramer and Gianaris to come to the table and assist in negotiating better community benefits.

Instead Gianaris and Van Bramer scream that they have 'slain the giant". Bezos can tell Trump to step off so you know he doesn't lose sleep over mediocre politicians.

Was this on offer? No. Just screaming and LIES about NYS/C given $3B to a man instead of using it for schools, The imbeciles are either dishonest or ignorant because a tax credit is an offset to taxes due. The taxes that Amazon and its employees will pay is GONE.

Cuomo will fix them when they come with a laundry list of plans that need trillions of dollars to fund.
