I was born in NYC....I am a New Yorker in and out.

I forgot. Silly me.

SI, Throggs Neck, Howard Beach are all under risk of climate change crisis.

Those areas are not suburban just because they're rich. Suburban is a built form, not an economic status

Ditmas Park in Brooklyn. There are areas with single family houses surrounded by small yards.

Sunnyside Gardens in Queens is very leafy, not suburban but very pretty.

Northern most Riverdale has green areas and horseback riding facilities.

Bayside and Douglaston are nice too.

I am not crazy about Throggs Neck or Country Club.

I remember Midwood from my childhood. It was so much pretty then. It has gone downhill.

So any reason for asking? Are you looking for a new area?

Ditmas Park doesn't feel suburban at all. There are huge houses there but they're separated by just a driveway, and that Brooklyn energy is still there because of the apartment buildings and commercial strips mixed in.

Come on out to Staten Island, North Shore, Saint George/Tomkinsville, and other parts are full of such homes.

Hence my comments about price of such homes, and one still is just a driveway apart from one's neighbors. This is why many pack up and move to NJ. More home for less money, and you often get a nice piece of property so your kids have a yard to play in, BBQ's, or just to sit outside and chill.

They lack diversity, urban culture, and variation in cost of goods. To me they are suburban.
