Liberals are only liberal in politics. Socially, liberals are as conservative as the Puritans. This is why liberal hotspots like Greenwich Village, Tribeca, West Village are so against bars, clubs or anything that can be considered party-like atmospheres. And since this type is getting more and more influential in NYC, hence the city is getting less active nightlife over the years.
That has nothing to do with liberals. Well off people don't want lots of drunk idiots coming from all over to their residential neighbourhoods. Who wants to put down millions of dollars so some trashy filth can come by their neighbourhood?
Places that have too many nightclubs have vomit in the street, sex in the street, and all the stuff lots of people generally don't like.
Apparently you're a comparatively recent transplant. I was in NYC when Giuliani himself shut down half the nightlife in the city. Bloomberg got rid of a lot himself.
The only reason why nightlife had gotten that big is because after the city lost a million jobs and white flight, there were a lot of empty real estate including warehouses that had become super night clubs.
It makes you seem low IQ when you call everything you hate "liberal".
I cannot imagine Christian conservatives or Orthodox Jews loving nightclubs or would tolerate lots of nightclubs where they live either.
All that will likely depend on how the state legislature writes the enabling legislation. There may be a state level gaming control board with sole authority to do that.

If all we get is a Resorts World 2.0, it's not gonna recapture any of the Vegas vibe. Even nanny state New Jersey allows exceptions to its state laws (such as last call and smoking laws) for Atlantic City.
If it wasn't for nanny state government, we could have Vegas/Miami nightlife here too and generate more tax dollars.

Wait are you sure we dont already have a pretty active nightlife in Manhattan? Last time I checked, it appeared so.
I sure there are bars in Greenwich, Tribeca, and West Village. Maybe not a lot, but some. And the storefront sizes dont really allow for mega huge clubs anyways. But classic NYC bars that are like 5ft wide, and 20ft deep are around.
All these revenues from vice's better be going straight for education.
Pot,booze, lotto, and any live casino games, all tax dollars towards the best education a vice can buy.
You dont want AC in CI, no. Have you visited AC lately? Fungule?!!!!
Why does it have to go to education (beyond the usual amount that taxes go to)?
