My above comment was based off the article Bugsy posted, if your read it, the guys says : “Don’t blame me if they’re not locking the door,” a source quoted Thompson as saying. “(They) need to keep those doors locked. Don’t blame me.”

I started a thread a couple months back about vandals that gained access to the rear cab of a 5 train. They didn’t pull the emergency but instead clicked the electric panel so much that the electrical system went haywire. This occurred at 10pm so the impact was not as bad.

There are plenty of these bandits and the mta are aware but the Public is often unaware. It’s announced over the PA as a mechanical problem.
