Several more aren't that far behind in debt, but some of it is mortgage related which is common.

He's simply not a very shrewd politician. As you can see with his messy finances. If he ever loses the nomination and then fails to be re-elected he'll be in major debt. He doesn't have any business skills like Bloomberg or Guliani.

Sam The Eagle can't be re-elected thanks to term limits he's out in 2021 regardless. That goes for nearly entire city council, speaker of city council, most (if not all) borough presidents, and the comptroller. Public advocate office was spared since that Williams guy was just voted in. But he will face another election in 2021.

While it has already begun, the game of NYC political musical chairs will pick up steam in earnest over next several months as those being kicked out look around for another elected office to latch onto.

Stringer is running for mayor

Corey Johnson is running for mayor

Richie Torres is running for Congress

Gail Brewer may run for her old city council seat

Helen Rosenthal is running for comptroller

And so it goes.

It's only BdeB that has nothing else politically to go after in 2021, hence his WH bid, laughable as it may seem. His other option is to bid time and go for governor in 2022, but Andrew Cuomo is already raising money for a *fourth* term election bid, so good luck with that.

So just make sure not to elect him as a possible candidate for any future presidential campaign.

Rest of the country aren't stupid as NYC voters. While your advice is good, Sam The Eagle hasn't a snowball's chance in Hades of being elected National Latrine Inspector much less POTUS.

I wonder if DeBlasio is even aware of his own reputation. If you google search "Worse mayor", all you see are pictures and articles about him. You don't even have to add New York City or his name to the seach, just simply "Worst mayor". And keep in mind this includes the likes of former Detroit Mayor Kilpatrick or the current mayor of Chicago.

It would be funny if he somehow does well in the primaries and the media actually tries to make Trump look good to prevent DeBlasio from winning.

I'm just hoping for a clean sweep this coming election to a better administration. I never voted for this guy; I despise the Democrat machine and their buddy buddy politics (think Tammany Hall and the Chicago machine). I hope both parties put up much better candidates than this guy.

I thought that was the Comptroller's job? I'm no fan of the Mayor, but you people sure know how to put haystacks in the street and light it ablaze....good grief

Any New Yorker who has a clear understanding of the city's history knows that Lindsay was the worst by a mile. DeBlasio couldn't be as bad as Lindsay even if he tried. If you ever walked through any NYCHA and felt uncomfortable, you have him to blame. Runner-up is Robert Moses and he wasn't even Mayor. I don't mind pointing fingers because we all were born with them. But place the appropriate blame.
