I get a lot of calls that are the same first six digits of my phone number. I have no idea who that is since I never pick up the phone if I don't recognize the number.

I got a robocall yesterday that my Social Security number was suspended for fraud. That was a new one. I've gotten a lot of calls that pretend to be the IRS, car warranty companies, the "chimney company" where a young woman says excitedly "HELLO HOW ARE YOU?", and spoofed local phone numbers. Any calls which show up on caller ID with a city and state instead of the name of a person or business is spam and I don't answer. Cities do not place calls.

Right. And if it is a legitimate call, the person will leave a message, so that takes care of the fear of missing something important. I do find blocking the calls helps enormously. I can go for months without receiving one of these calls. I'm very wary of the 646 exchange...
