Obviously it was disrespectful and just plain wrong. But you really can't shoot somebody or put 'em in a chokehold for assault with cold water--even with a bucket. I think it's just more likely that the cops thought that arresting whoever they had for whatever reason was more important than retaliating. Probably a wise move on their part.

Effing De Blasio. Thank you for allow this to happen. Too bad this wasn't during Rudy's administration. These ****'s would have been shot. Degenerate SOBs.

It's infinitely more degenerate to want to kill somebody over a bucket of water. Some of you all could use some serious churching up.

Across the country, PDs are having problems finding applucants. This is a big reason why.

not surprising.

Those cops were very new, I believe one had 6 months on the job, and the other less than a year. This is how they are training them. Take the abuse, and walk away.

Don't say anything, because it could be interpreted as "racist", insensitive or it could escalate the situation.

Don't arrest anyone unless you absolutely have to. And if you can't arrest them in a nice and polite way--shame on you as the cop. Be prepared for law suits where you will need a lawyer and be prepared to have vacation days taken from you.

The mayor, the PC, celebrities and the public have all made it very clear that cops are not to be respected.

it's not the gumption that cops are to not be respected, but the city is protecting themselves against petty lawsuits, which will cost millions in lawsuit money

i think these ratchets knew they were rookies, and tried them

I wish I could tell some of my stories from back in the day but you don’t owe me a big enough pension yet for me to retire.

Fifteen years ago, these guys would have paid big time for this. As a matter of fact, it probably never would have gotten so far because they’d have been bleeding on the ground before managing to fill the bucket.

Harlem is truly a neighborhood that exemplifies Moynihan's 1960 study which has often been paraphrased as "Defining Deviency Down".

Reminds me a lot of the old Bowery with their bums.

This makes me very sad, the NYPD ought to be respected. The water being poured on them isn't concerning, it's the fact the group had the gall to do it in the first place.

There is no fear ofconsequences.
