What a sin!

"Latonia Shelecia Stewart, 26, was arraigned this week on a slew of charges connected to six different break-ins that were reported in Westchester between fall 2017 and spring 2018, according to prosecutors.

Her indictment says she targeted people who were attending their spouse’s wake or funeral service."

Now here's the payoff, female was arrested, booked, arraigned and released on bail.

I remember something similar some years back happening in some other city (but I don't remember where!).

Not unusual. Been going on for decades. I recall back in the day one neighbor staying in the building during a neighbor’s funeral with a clear view of anyone coming into the courtyard. Anyone not looking as a regular and she called the Precinct.

""She allegedly had their obituary on her cellphone — and her baby in the back seat.""

Jesus, what the heck was the point of having a kid if you are resorting to doing stuff like that??

We need to offer voluntary neutered programs for humans in which an individual gets 500K for having their reproductive system neutered.

Yes, this is a very old trick. As a matter of fact, when I got married in 1989, I received a gift that was wrapped in newspaper from Missouri. It was the obituary section, and I was shocked to see that they listed the full address of the deceased along with the funeral schedule. Why not just put out a sign that says, "THE HOUSE AT THIS ADDRESS WILL BE EMPTY BETWEEN 10 AM AND 2 PM ON THURSDAY"? They had stopped doing that in NJ years before.

Of course, with technology it's easy now for people to look up an address.

And sometimes, the person already knows. My friend's father died. The family noticed her nephew wasn't at the funeral, but they figured it was just because he's a druggie. They were right, but they didn't understand the whole story until two weeks later when her mother noticed that all her good jewelry was gone from her jewelry box. While everyone was at Grandpa's funeral, he was burglarizing Grandma's house.

'She was arraigned in town court and released on bond. At this point, it's unknown how many municipalities view Stewart as a suspect in similar burglaries.'

Of course, like she might show up after being released on bond. NY is being turned over to the criminals.

I wonder if funeral directors could offer a service by loaning/renting a portable motion sensor that would emit an ear-piercing siren, and phone the director so they could call the police. If such a device exists or could be made.
