I haven't seen any evidence of a community of them.

I wonder if there are even 20 people of that background.

The Saint Nicholas - Romanian Orthodox Church can be found on 48th Avenue in Woodside (Queens). So one would presume that there is some kind Romanian community in that area.

Highly doubt it. Wouldn’t be surprised if The Bronx it Harlem had 1 or 2 of them.

There's 1/2 hr of Romanian TV out of New York, channel depends on your cable provider. I haven't seen the program in years, but I remember that the sponsors all seemed to be in Queens in the neighborhoods others mentioned already...Ridgewood, Sunnyside, Woodside. The channel also sometimes used to publicize events for the Romanian community in NYC, like holiday parties etc, which may or may not be of interest to you.

I'd also look at news stands in Queens to see if there are any local papers in Romanian (when I lived in Astoria, I remember seeing one, but it was many moons ago). That may be another good way to find out about events organized for that community.
