In theory, yes. But reality...having more space will just tempt me to cram more stuff into it. Leaving me with the same amount of space I had originally but just spent more money. lol.

Most developers nowadays, at least in high value areas, aren't even bothering with one bedrooms, let alone studios.

I guess today's developers wall off the "alcove" to create a bedroom. Oh, well!

I think the main problem with a studio is that it's not flexible. You could be a happily single person who meets someone and gets married/shacks up etc. For that, you're probably looking at moving.

So you have a VERY large bedroom, but what exactly do you need in a bedroom besides a bed, nightstand, a place for the TV, maybe some dressers or a closet? I mean it's called a bedroom for a reason. I see these massive bedrooms, and I'm like yeah... More stuff to clean... Same thing with the bathrooms... They are HUGE... They still have the same crap that every other bathroom has in them... A walk-in shower, and or tub, toilet, sink, etc. As long as I come move around freely and not feel cramped, I'm fine. To me, what's more important is to have a place that is laid out well and functional and done well. A lot of the houses or apartments you buy, you're paying for the space, but then they have cheap carpet in them and hideous outdated bathrooms, but yes they are VERY large.
Sounds like you have an issue with cleaning so you would rather sacrifice the space for less to clean.

I love my 1 bedroom apartment. Its huge. yes there is allot to clean for 1 person but since its only me living here its my mess. Pull out the dust mop once a week to keep the floors clean, Swiffer the furniture to eliminate the dust and clean the heapa filters, once I got the routine its down to an hour on a Saturday or sunday. I constantly have females over and just cannot have them enter my place and can immediately see my entire live laid out in the open. A female should not see my sleeping area unless their about to get naked.
