Statistics would show that its a very high chance the person is also someone from a low income neighborhood, in their 20s or a young adult, sometimes teens, a gang affiliated person, a street drug dealer or petty criminal, possibly unemployed or underemployed. So being black or Latino, or a person’s race is only one factor in “statistics.”
When shootings happen in the hood, the local people aren’t stupid. They often do know exactly the type they’re dealing with.
So of statistical significance nevertheless. We seem to be in agreement. Sounds like massive change is required of the local political environment. Perhaps moving towards a multiparty system might help. From the way people vote, seems like the local people just want more of the same garbage.
When New York finally comes to it's senses, votes in a Republican, returns the rule of Law to the Police Department, then
and only then will crime finally be eradicated and no RACE, I mean no RACE will have excuses at hand to condemn the other.
Our streets will return to the quiet and bliss of years long ago while street scum rot away in some abandoned warehouse on the
far outposts of our city.
Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and NY in general has alot of crimes being commited by 1st and 2nd gen Caribbean's , but it's often Thrown into "African-American" crime statistics, There are hardly any African Americans who live in New York city, most have moved to the south or the suburbs
If this was the time of the mob, I would not say Whites are committing crimes, i would say Italians or Irish were doing crimes, For New York City to be so diverse, the New York City Data forum is a racist place
so use the term blacks instead of AA then.
Look, it's quite simple. watch the 10 o'clock news and observe the suspects/criminals (which are predominantly from one demographic - sorry these are facts), and take note of what neighborhoods the crimes are happening in.
then you avoid these neighborhoods and keep an eye out for these characters.
avoid late night "BBQs", basketball tournaments and house parties, hip hop concerts and west indian parades.
your chances of being a shooting/mugging victim have just be decreased many fold.
unfortunately, I feel for those who cannot move out of these hoods, or have had the hood move to them.
Who grows up and says I want to be middle class? You've been duped too....lol
Who grows up wanting to be middle class? Practically all normal kids from normal families. A hallmark of intelligence is recognizing one's own realistic limits.

All normal kids want to be upper middle class to rich.
All normal kids want to be upper middle class to rich.
All normal kids (and adults) want to attain what is realistically attainable (I think that is probably the very definition of normality), which is usually not "rich", and they know it (upper middle class is certainly attainable by following rules of socially accepted conduct, rich requires special circumstances). In the early 1990s, at the point of strongest momentum of the new IT industry, there came out a book (followed by a TV series) that chronicled the recent history of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and other IT pioneers. The title was "Accidental Empires". They were middle class (Jobs) to upper middle class (Gates) kids who just followed a line of learning and work, and the extraordinary money that their work created really came as an accident. Gates was famous for dirty hair and smell because he spent every waking moment in writing code, so was neglecting to even shower. They were most certainly striving to create something interesting and highly useful, but were focused on development of user-friendly computing machines, not on trying to be rich. Gates retired at 50 instead of trying to be ever richer and richer until he dropped dead. People routinely walk away from "more money" if that will bring them more time and peace of mind (I did it myself when I decided to switch to working part time only). Money, beyond covering a bit more than the basics, is definitely not the most important goal for most professionally successful people (unless they work in finance, in which case money is indeed the only content of their work. But there are a million other occupations besides finance).
Really, why would anyone want to watch that? People gravitating to this kind of thing, and posting this kind of thing, is what makes so much of journalism so bad these days.
