Reading some of previous posts I can not fathom the limits of ignorance.
This is not a man suffering from Alzheimer. This is a man uncovering,exposing Left wing Distortion and upsetting the Associated Presses!

His talent/personality is well suited to deal with crime. Anything else he is just an average Joe. He was in power at the right time and in the right crime context. If he was mayor now, he won’t have an opportunity to shine or to be remembered.
This. He was in power at the right time and in the right context. By the time he ran for President in 2008, his campaign went nowhere. You could no longer make a political career out of throwing people in prison for anything.

Why can't we just say that he was a good mayor who did good things without the hero worship ? Maybe that type of hero worship filled his head and ego and made him vulnerable for the desperate need to be the center of attention and to be relevant, and it is desperate. These claims that he is a hero, also raises the fact that some people's worldview must also by extension include villans. The real world is not so binary, bad people do good and good people do bad. Also when you believe you had a hero, then you look for another hero. Heroes absolve you from any shared responsibility to serve in improving things. I want a good leader who can pull disparate parties into cooperating nothing more.
If you didn't know better, you would conclude he was always a lunatic, but evidently he was the only one who is responsible for cleaning up NYC.
