Property taxes have been dirt cheap compared to Long Island or Westchester. Owning a home is basically one of the biggest investments that people make, so I'd be more concerned with my investment depreciating than getting lower property taxes.

I just used the property tax as an example. The point is I dont think people would oppose the jail if they were compensated for the "inconvenience."

Sure, depending on how much we're talking... Anything can be negotiated at the right price.
