My dad used to take me on the D train as a kid to Manhattan on his days off in the 70s. I remember that entire train cars would be dark with no lights. On the occasion I got to ride in a dark car I would pretend I was in a space ship flying thru outer space and the flickers of light in the tunnel and sparks from the tracks made it feel like they were laser beams in the distance. As a adult I learned the D train is crap

D train is great for going uptown fast. No stops from W4 to 34 and from 59 to 125
