What exactly led up to the sanctuary status that we have today? Was there ever a time that citizens voted for this or how else did this happen?

The first time I heard the term Santuary City was 5-10 years ago. Post September 11. Maybe it was started by Obama in the wee hours of the night?

The "sanctuary city" concept really started in this area when property taxes rose in the NYC suburbs to the point when many suburban homeowners could no longer comfortably afford to maintain their properties. So if you want to point fingers, point outside the city, this is when it became a phenomenon. Then when MS-13 started running amok, then and only then did the "privileged" realize that they may have made a mistake. Therefore, "sanctuary city" means lay your hands off the undocumented, because they don't want to pay the landscaper thousands of bucks to make their lawns green. Has nothing to do with "politics."

At the end of the day it's no secret that the USA = money and that's why so many come here, and not through legal channels. It's for damn sure not because of the weather.

Last part is pretty true. I was down one day at work and asked my coworkers if they liked being in the US just for the money. They all said yes.

It's funny how the role has reversed this decade.

Republicans in the 90s were the globalist and supported having illegals protected. The offshore legislations were all created by them with Bush, giving incentives to offshore labor. Democrats talked about national security by securing the borders and protecting unions and labor from offshore services.

Both Senator Clinton and Obama talked about beefing security at the wall.

Opinion: There is a difference between the men of the 90's and some of the shemales being manufactured today.

I dont not understand first part. Why would suburban homeowners not being able to afford property taxes create a concept such as sanctuary city?

Are you saying these suburban homeowners started renting property to make money, and only found illegals to rent, and since illegals could not afford, gubment decided to hand out the money?

They can't afford to pay property taxes, therefore they cant afford to maintain their properties

So they hire day laborers, etc. to do contracting work inside the home (not obtaining permits from their respective town) and landscaping work outside the home

Some rent out illegal apartments to pay their property taxes instead

Politicians step in and say effectively day laborers can stay (see Nassau and Suffolk counties in NY)

I thought I explained my POV pretty clearly
