As mentioned in another thread, there are other cities for large businesses to relocate to. Nyc does not have the infrastructure or government that is compatible for business growth and competition. Cities like Atlanta, Charlotte, Phoenix, Austin & Dallas have grown like crazy. Even other northeast cities like Boston & Providence are drawing in business.

Nyc in the meantime is choked with taxes, regulation, unfunded liabilities & a crumbling transit system that is buried in debt And inefficiency.

Are there any solutions coming from Albany or city hall to reign in this insanity?

Pal .....all I can tell you is that being born raised and retired here the city has become more
congested, dirtier and quality of life that has turned downward in comparison to 50 years ago.
There are a few isolated pocketed neighborhoods that are still comfortable and quiet. Free of congestion
and overpopulation. With the internet today, a couple of clicks and everything from food to furniture delivered to
your doors but it will only be a matter of time. Unless we return the reigns to a Republican constituency, New York
is bound to become nothing more than an enigma, a former shell of its once great role as greatest city in the world.

What get's my goat is how the defenders of Mayor deBlasio can claim he has the best record on minimizing homicides in the city.
He gets bragging rights to 249 murders as of 10/6/19 compared to Former Mayor Giuliani at 649 murders ending 2001.

However if we lay out the chart more realistically.

Mayor Giuliani : term starting.......1994......1,927.......term ending 2001......649
Mayor DeBlasio : term starting ......2013......333..........as October 2019.......249

So this is the real picture:
The former mayor Giuliani dropping a high murder rate count by .........1,278
where Mayor deBalsio had dropped the murders down only by a paltry........84
The former Mayor Giuliani did a better job dropping the murder rate by 15X.
Much better than Mayor deBlasio ...Now that is a noteworthy accomplishment.

This is the big picture everybody misses or refuses to acknowledge and give credit.
Stop and Frisk worked back then when implemented. Why it has been removed is anybody's guess.
It is possible to drop it down to near zero but I have a bad feeling Mayor deBlasio will end his term with sad sad numbers.

Good thing Cuomo raised the age for this 16 year old shooter.
