I'm thinking of moving to NYC from Wisconsin with a few friends, but we have no idea where to start. We're looking for a neighborhood where the rent is pretty cheap and there's work for kids out of high school or in college. We don't have any preference for one borough over the other, although I'm looking at The Bronx and Brooklyn moreso than the others and we pretty much refuse to consider Manhattan due to a lack of money. Top priorities are safety and rent. So! Can anyone recommend a neighborhood that would be good for a few suburban kids trying to start life in New York?
