Is an open air drug den what New Yorkers wanted? You knew that potheads misinterpret lax possession laws as a license to actively smoke reefer on sidewalks.

Who cares if people smoke weed in public? It's been going on for a while
I'm socially libertarian and have no issue if people want to consume weed in public

Way up this fall since the August decriminalization change. Way up. As in cannot walk one mile without at least 2 or 3 instances of smelling drugs in the air, blocks apart. Used to be zero.

You mean weed specifically, right? If it’s weed you’re talking about, then I don’t think your reply really conflicts with Foamposite’s post.

Do you dislike it more than the smell of cigarettes? For some reason, I can tolerate and sometimes even like a whiff of weed (not a hotbox contact high), but cigarettes sometimes make me crinkle my nose even though I sometimes smoke cigarettes.

I don't agree with that, the open smoking of weed has been very common for at least a few years now.
A lot of people these days vape weed anyway, which leaves behind barely any smell

When I grew up this was the norm. I used to sit on stoops enjoying a blunt. Nice way to spend a little down time.

Weed is here to stay. I just ask people to be respectful but don't jeopardize a good time for yourself. You earned it.

One of my fondest memories was getting busted on 110th for buying weed and the cop put it back into my pocket when he saw I was harmless. This was around 1988.

Good Memories.

NYC without weed is a BUZZKILL.

So much to see and do on weed.....in NYC but it must be super expensive now ?

The cannabis vape I walked through from across the street even after a thick, opaque white aerosolized cloud had dissipated left a pronounced weed smell.
