Bugsy, this is really wrong of you. Shame on you for reading this article and thinking anything but that this landlord needs to be taken to task.

The article basically revolves around her insistence that the landlord tests and remedies for mold. If she didn't bother to remove belongings from a flooded apartment, and dry them out right away (since her belongings are her responsibility, not the landlord's), then of course there will be mold in the apartment.

Mold removal is difficult and expensive. The landlord now has a choice between pursuing an expensive mold removal, or losing even the low rent that she was presumably paying (since she can stop paying rent if the apartment has mold). She has won the second apartment lottery with the mold, and she obviously knows it :-).

Geez, Talk about a Marie Antoinette approach.
"Let them build their OWN castles...and eat cake."

There is little doubt that low rent tenants are treated DIFFERENTLY.

Stop telling everyone to buy. Not everyone wants to own and be stuck in a house.
Stop projecting your wants and needs on to others

Where was she suppose to move all her stuff, she wasn't given the new apartment, it was a temp. place to go. Its the landlord fault so stop blaming the victim.

If her unit and 3 others were flooded/affected by this pipe burst. Why is it only her complaining? If others are in the same boat from the flood why are they not speaking out as well?

Maybe they're not in the same boat, perhaps their apartments were fixed and this could be where the discrimination charge comes from. But that is just speculation on my part.
