In new york city what is business that is open late(r) at night for new (not renewal) passport.

Or can I do the whole process online.

I dont need a rush.

30 days is fine to wait.

Seems like post office closes at 6pm for passports.
Even the post office that is open till 10pm on 33rd and 8th closes passport office at 6pm.

New passport you will have to appear personally. As far as evening hours, I think you are out of luck if going through the usual passport office channels. There may be some private passport expeditors that have evening hours but they are not cheap and will add to the cost. You should allot more than 30 days waiting for the passport, more like 60-90 days - it could be sooner but you can never tell with the passport people. If you need it sooner than 30-60 days you will need to expedite the application.

Grand Central PO seems to be open til 8 pm for passports on Wednesdays. But do double check that as maybe I'm misreading. https://iafdb.travel.state.gov/Detai...=110153&vs=110
