Driving my Jeep from Manhattan to Windham or Hunter tomorrow, should it be ok or would it be a nightmare?
Was hoping to get one good day in before I leave Wednesday.
Likely traffic will be no better or worse on Monday than any other week day, or at least start of week.
Big traffic was tonight for those who haven't returned from Thanksgiving holiday yet, and that is coming into city. Only thing I'd watch out for is weather; even if predicted storm isn't bad or doesn't happen in city, as you move upstate things can (and likely will) be different.
You’ll hit some traffic on the way back for sure. As for snow, unless you are going to a really isolated area, the Catskills roads are very well maintained for the most part during snow storms.
Wow, so even with all the heavy heavy snow they are getting in the Catskills, it still should be fine driving there and back tomorrow?
Really?
All the cars are all wheel drive, so no it should not be a problem. People from Minneapolis to Toronto, to Quebec City, to NJ have to drive in snow. The ski resorts depend on people driving through the snow. Front wheel drive is good enough too.
Leave Manhattan 9 AM, then drive back from Catskills at 4:30.
Usually it’s no problem but not sure with weather
You likely wont make your deadlines exactly of course. From my experience, people tend to drive slower and thereby more cautious in the snow.
