They’re going to paint this as the police fighting against transparency and probably win because of the current anti-police hatred.

I have a scanner app on my phone that allows me to listen to police and FD and other Emergency services through out the country. It's not something I use on a regular basis, but I like to know that it's there. It's actually useful to fall asleep too. I would miss it if it were gone.

I've used the app a few times when I was woken up by nonstop sirens. Haven't used it in a few years. Last time was a 5 alarm fire near me. I think it's a useful resource when it sounds like the end of the world is going down in your neighborhood.

It's probably being done so to prevent organized criminals from monitoring police whereabouts and response times to certain locations.

There are people who use it for "entertainment" purposes, and others use into assist in their "activities."
