A blast from the past! I thought all the post 1990's subway cars were made graffiti proof?
Apparently, not. Have any of you seen this?
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Vandals covered an entire subway train with graffiti in Brooklyn.
Vandals covered an entire subway train with graffiti in Brooklyn.
Social media has been buzzing about it since the eight cars on the J-M-Z line were spray-painted in Bushwick sometime on Sunday.
“NYC Transit personnel discovered this vandalism – which put an entire train out of service and will cost thousands of dollars to restore – on the morning of Dec. 15 and are fully cooperating with the NYPD which is leading a criminal investigation into the matter,” the MTA said in a statement.
This year alone, the MTA has spent tens of thousands of dollars to clean graffiti off trains.

Exactly! Leave it. No Brainer. That is what a NYC subway is supposed to look like. Spend the $10,000 on hiring artists to paint all of em.

Leave the trains. Its part of old New York tradition!
It is graffiti proof in that it can be removed but you still need to do the removing, which requires people, equipment, and cleaners and all those things cost money.
In the end, the graffiti will be removed, thousands wasted that could be used for a more necessary purpose. Just a complete waste of time and money. No shortage of dumb people on this planet.
They could just keep the graffiti like the trains in Berlin
Berlin is currently undergoing an unprecedented wave of crime and lawlessness precisely because petty crimes like these aren't being enforced. Look up Neukolln. Ever heard of the broken windows theory? It's what made NYC actually livable in the 21st century... perhaps people have had it too good.
Opinion:
More felony convictions in the waiting.
When will these knuckle heads ever learn
that this form of art is as dead as disco.
I suggest to pick up a few lesson from Robert Norman Ross.
You can still find a few of his videos on you tube........Best wishes Picassos.........
graffitti --- people who spray-paint scribbly-scrawl on peoples' properties/sides of trucks/peoples garage fronts........ every nook ~n~ crannie....it shows you the element running around the neighborhood. Loads of landlords [bldg owners] - they look the other way. only when they're ticketed, or a complaint is lodged....THEN they do something.
especially in the 'hood' - you know, it's art. some graffiti i've seen....is artsy, they allow it where it is.
i see graffiti everyday -- it's ugly scribbly-scrawl. most NYC graffiti = vandalism...gang presence...just ugly unsightly scribbly-crawl.....[a reflection of their minds].
1. Impossible. You would have to literally go down via the tunnels to do that job while the train is in the yard or work with MTA employees. 2. The persons obviously do not know it is a felony to graffiti the trains

I stayed in Neukolln for a week. It seemed perfectly to me and seemed more orderly than just about anywhere in NYC.
Berlin in general is cleaner and more orderly, and public consumption of alcohol is 100% legal and bars can be open 24/7.
