A lot of these closures are due to changing tastes. Amazon is not killing every store, Target, Costcos, BJs, and Walmart all doing very well with Amazon. Gamestop is closing because games is shifting to online downloading. Subways is just losing popularity with the millennials that prefer more variety and ethnic foods.
Subway is declining because their product is garbage. They market themselves as being "healthy". Their bread has all sorts of disgusting additives.
Sears closed its Rego Park location about a year ago approx. Sears replaced Alexander's at the location. Nothing has replaced it yet and I am wondering if another department store would consider opening a branch in that location.
