https://qns.com/story/2019/12/27/the...lization-bill/

Governor Andrew Cuomo on Thursday vetoed a bill that would have paved the way for the legalization of e-scooters and e-bikes in New York.

The legislation, passed in Albany earlier this year with widespread support, would have in part instituted three different classes of electronically assisted bicycles across the state–effectively ending the de Blasio administration’s crackdown against the bicycles, which are commonly used among low-wage, immigrant food delivery workers in the city.

Cuomo in his veto message said the bill was “fatally flawed” and cited the legislation’s lack of a helmet requirement in his stance.

They are all over South Florida and Paris. My biggest issue is the fact that ppl leave them all over the place.

Personal scooters, or shared pay-per-ride ones?

Those shared rental scooters are a menace on the road.
It is treated like a toy,and user's don't follow safety rules.
Fun,fun,fun,... not!

Nearly ran over a few people at Virginia Beach, and parts of Florida. Reminds me of going on vacation to an all inclusive resort, and renting a gas scooters. We could do nothing better than popping wheelies and racing!
Fun,fun,fun...

People are more reckless with anything that's not theirs

Those Lime bikes are scattered all around my way, but I think they started finally removing them from the streets for winter

I wouldn't be mad at personal e-bikes or e-scooters.

The state senate voted 56-6 to allow them. Cuomo vetoed the proposal becuase he has a personal grudge against the person who proposed it. Our government is extremely corrupt.
