I was a victima of housing discriminación. Should have known that part of the hood wanted to keep their people in the apartment. Broker and the other potential tenant were of the same race. But how could I prove it?
Better to sell your house privately if you can, and yes it's a pain. Large apartment building owners are going to be the ones caught up in this as they usually use realtors or list apartments in the papers and online. The 2 and 3 family home owners will resort more and more to word-of-mouth rentals to avoid all this nonsense and government abuse.

Opinion:
As a former landlord of a multi-dwelling I can tell you this much from experience.
You deal with a well established neighborhood realtor and you will get well established
neighborhood renters. You deal with a young I don't give a crap realtor who's only concern
is commission you are going to get a young I don't give a crap tenant.
Don't the feds already do this? Pretty redundant and wasteful.
I doubt that the feds have any interest in the matter. A dozen new hires, 5 white 5 black, a transsexual and a blatant atheist could do the job and their salaries could easily be paid by the fines collected from the discriminatory landlords.
Civil penalties may be levied up to $16,000 for a first violation and $65,000 for future violations
