Don't know if it's the same story or another bed bug sighting. Egads. Bed bugs. Don't want them following you home. For real. Bed bug infestations are no joke. I've never had one but I've heard from friends/colleagues who did and they are tough to get rid of and a pain in the neck. They're worse than cockroaches. IMO.
A bed bug sighting at an MTA control tower in Queens caused severe delays on Wednesday, officials said.
The bugs were found at Forest Hills-71st Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Personnel were evacuated and, without people to control switches, the MTA's ability to turn trains around was compromised.
"We immediately took action to fumigate the tower, which resulted in an evacuation until tower staff were able to safely return at approximately 7:30pm.," MTA NYC President Andy Byford said.
There were problems on the E, F, M and R lines.
"Full service is now returning, with no further expected impact this evening or for the AM rush Thursday," Byford said.
