Lucky woman.

https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs...b7h0Tf0wu6n7JE

After falling seven stories from her apartment window, Barbara Heller is very lucky to be alive.

Kelli Blue, a close friend of the 76 year old, described how awful it was to be in the next room as her friend, a retired teacher from Hunter College who has been having some breathing issues, fell out the window.

“I was putting dishes away, and I heard the crash. I went out on the terrace. I looked down and she was on the sidewalk! It was terrifying!” said Blue.

Blue says after speaking with her friend they believe Heller first hit a shed that’s on a second-floor terrace.

She then bounced off that and landed on a pallet of fruits and vegetables before she ended up on the sidewalk along 1st Avenue by East 81 Street.

Police say the fall took place just before noon Friday.

No,not lucky at all. If she had been lucky the fall would have killed her. God knows what she'll go through now for the rest of her life.

She is very injured. She isn't out of the woods yet and has a long recovery ahead of her.

That's what I want to know. It's the million dollar question. Wonder if they'll make guard rails mandatory now regardless of the age of the residents.
