Opinion:
Murder down 19.4 percent to only 25 ...hahahaha.....only 25 people murdered....sick ..sick..
I pray for a Republican Mayor to return and save this city from implosion..............
IMO the biggest saving grace is that the city is still very expensive and the scums of society are still keeping out of the city (for now)
You're forgetting one thing, the real trouble makers who are still here were being kept busy at Rikers. Now they are all being let out and when they re-offend they cannot be held with bail. After 4 or 5 robberies and vandalisms, something inevitably goes wrong and somebody gets stabbed or shot
And I'm sure the Bail Reform has NOTHING to do with it...
I'm just curious to know when some people will start to wake up and realize it was all a bad idea? What will it take? Anyone care to answer?
Again....as I posted on another thread.
You people elected a weak on crime Socialist as mayor, and said mayor has handcuffed the police -- after all, you can't be upsetting the 'communities' too much.

Hey you'll never be jailed until some liberal judge clears up space on his desk in a couple of months...
Oh, and the change to discovery process means a defense attorney can require a judge to provide the plaintiff's address BEFORE TRIAL. This change enables a defense attorney to get information (and there is no way of preventing it from going to their client), that enables a criminal to retaliate BEFORE TRIAL.
Oh wait. That already happened!
On Long Island, some MS13 were beating up a kid, since it was only "simple assault" they were released without bail, and the guy who called it in? He was beaten to death by the same guys who were the victim's assailants.
This is one of the most idiotic laws ever written. ...well unless you're a real estate lobbyist bribing state legislature to create a law that encourages crime, for the sake of driving property prices down to buy easier and cheaper.
One thing that has something to do with it is the fact that it's the very biased, anti-BDB Post reporting.
I don't know about you, but I don't mind auto theft going up, if murder and rape go down. And keep in mind that I'm guessing these numbers are still minuscule compared to a couple of decades ago.

You're gonna mind when your auto insurance rates jump to $2500
