It was interesting to read. Thanks for posting. The article explains: "She traces her family to the last enslaved person sold on Staten Island in the 1700s. Her grandfather, William Morris, founded the borough's first NAACP chapter. P.S. 61, Morris Intermediate School, is named after him."
