There's a crime wave? Huh.

https://qns.com/story/2020/03/10/nyp...in-ozone-park/

The NYPD plans to take crime and put it in its place as it ramps up coverage in certain areas of Ozone Park that have been riddled by crime for the past 18 months by putting out more patrols and a temporary headquarters.

That area has been getting worse for quite some time now, years before DeBlasio even became mayor. Not surprising considering what neighborhood it borders directly to the east.

I thought it was a middle class, predominantly Italian neighborhood.

It hasn't been Italian majority in a long time

I’m surprised but not too surprised . Ozone is more hood then some other places in queens but I still think overall it’s not unsafe and is a nice diverse neighborhood . But Looking at the article It’s mostly in the area closest to the Brooklyn border which makes sense

What you’re describing is Howard Beach now. Ozone park, Richmond hills, South ozone park etc are largely immigrant areas. The housing stock is mostly attached houses, not super appealing.

Attached houses not super appealing? They go for millions of dollars in Brooklyn and 10 million + in Manhattan.

But I don't think Ozone Park is mostly attached housing anyway, more like detached single family houses on small lots.
