Brooklyn's proportional share of NYC cases is not much higher than its share of population, and SI and Queens are also almost equivalent to its share of population. Manhattan's % share of cases is much higher than its share of population and the Bronx's is much lower than its share, which I suspect could be tied to testing availability and being able to access.
OMG. You gotta be kidding me. You see, what being cooped up with nothing to do does to one's brain?
Go out. Get some Vitamin D. Don't go near anyone. Wear your mask. Nothing's worse than cabin fever.
I've been eating way too much cake. I need to go out. It's nice out! Will do another grocery run.
My wife said Chris is cuter. But the Gov is an alpha male bad ass.
This is what governments have always done during collapses and you too may soon need government help. If you get sick you may have to be treated at a new hospital opened up by the federal or state government.
Your employer likely has to be bailed out. Private companies are made of of PEOPLE, and their jobs are important.
Most payroll checks and all government checks come from accounts at a few big banks. That’s why the government doesn’t let the biggest banks collapse.
The MTA will be bailed out, as it should be. It needs to keep operating.
And yes the unemployment checks, expanded money for Medicaid to cover unemployed people, and food stamps are important to keep people alive.
I'm not arguing those points. You have to follow the thread of the conversation. The MTA can get bailed out, with your (our/my) tax money and they will still want to make up for lost time and income, so will raise rates and you'll pay twice. They get free help, no strings attached, but you and I don't.
I find the data reported incomplete. They report the number of cases and deaths yet fail to report: recovered cases; number of persons hospitalized; number of mild cases; number of severe cases. So IMO their statistical data is incomplete and of little use.

Yes, the public does indeed get free help. Food stamps, Medicaid, unemployment, etc.
The MTA is made up of people. People go there to work and actually operate it. And they supper their families that way as well.
