The question is if people in the US would have hoarded them and resulted in an even worse shortage of masks for medical workers. It’s a pretty cynical take to think that and even more cynical if they enacted policy based on such, but cynical doesn’t necessarily mean untrue.
catch-22, if everyone on the subway had masks the hospital workers wouldn't be in such danger because less sick people would now be flooding the hospitals

Yep--the real answer was to make sure there was enough masks and tests for everyone, and ration the amount people as consumers can purchase.
I'm a few pages out of the loop so apologies if this has been covered recently, but...
Who out there is willing to make a prediction?
I'm concerned about Residential Real Estate in NYC, Manhattan in particular and apartments purchased recently at sky-high prices.
What will the market look like in 3 months? 6 months? And one year from now?
And if -- IF -- you were to leave the city, where would YOU go? It seems half of you think this will blow over quickly, others envision a city in ruin. Thoughts? And thanks.
1550 Dead. Where are all of the grieving families and over flowing funeral parlors? I see nothing. It just hit me... Maybe i'm nuts but does anyone have insight into a backlog of funerals or funeral parlor space or anything?
Yes we've all seen the video of bodies going into trailers, but no one can see if that it more bodies than normal on any given day.

There cannot be groups of grieving families at funeral parlors due to social distancing.
So it's either the highest bidder or who has more political clout. Why is one better than the other?

It’s like being on eBay with 50 other states bidding on a ventilator... How inefficient! And then FEMA gets involved and FEMA starts bidding...What sense does this make? The federal government, FEMA, should’ve been the purchasing agent and then allocate by need to the states.”

So true, all other countries went down the same route and got the same results. Individual bids against each other on the free market is definitely the way to go.

In point of fact, the best course of action for most people would be to just ignore it entirely and go about your life. The vast majority who'll get it would suffer little more than a cold.
How is your protest going by the way? How real did you get?

Drove by Yankee Stadium today. Saw a bunch of AMR ambulances parked outside on 161st. My guess is this may become a temporary hospital similar to Central Park.
