Elevators and Public Transit are going to be seen as the biggest way this virus was spread in NYC. Fact.

FYI we are almost at Peak. Like I have been saying the Peak is 5-7 days away per Cuomo this morning. Numbers will drop rapidly following the peak. By the 3rd or 4th week of April we will be looking back at this mess. Other states will still have issues but nothing like we had here.

Nationwide it should be mostly on the decline by April 30th - May 15th per latest Government numbers.

It will still get worse for a few days before it starts to be better so it's no surprise numbers are still going up.

NY governor says China is donating 1,000 ventilators to the state

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said today that New York will receive 1,140 ventilators from China and Oregon.

The Chinese government has facilitated a donation of 1,000 ventilators that are expected to arrive at JFK Airport today, Cuomo said moments ago during a press conference.

You say this based on what? There's still a lot of population left to infect. This could keep growing for months. And of course, it can, and likely will peak, drop off, than spike back up, as restrictions are relaxed, the virus ping pongs around the country and world, and comes back here.

peak is very speculative

Trump also thinks there may be another wave in the fall

The CDC is preparing "most likely, for another wave that we would anticipate in the late fall, early winter where there will still be a substantial portion of Americans that are susceptible,"

There is confusion in the death toll numbers. The 8:30 city report shows 1,905

https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/doh/down...04042020-1.pdf

Then I saw this at 2,624, which would be a huge jump. I don't know where they're getting they're numbers.

Peak doesn't usually mean that no one else is getting infected and it can be in reference to a local (time local) peak. A crucial thing is really understanding if and to what extent actual re-infection is a possibility.

I appreciate the donations - but let's hope the equipment isn't defective like other European countries have found.

There's also been a lot of open source ventilator projects with people racing to make usable designs out of what equipment and materials are available. Nothing may come of it, but the hope is they're usable as ersatz solutions.

We shall see, I'm guessing it will get worse in May, as the infection spreads in NYC.
Mass transit is still spreading it somewhat.
