Massachusetts has agreed to give its healthcare workers hazard pay. Why can't New York do the same?
Pay extra why, because it's a nice gesture? Nurses & doctors are already highly paid, and making substantially more overtime already. That's one reason health insurance is so expensive, among other things.
Hazard is already part of the job, it's what they signed up for. Not to mention the state is broke and needs to allocate resources to keep things running
So... are we re-opening in May or June. Bets anyone?
My bet? Limited opening of businesses starting May 1st slowly rolling out thru June. In line with approved testing PPE and therapies to fight the virus.
what about grocery workers? they are risking their lives for the minumum wage. if they refuse to work, no one can get food. maybe they should raise the food price to pay extra to these workers
