I don't suppose there's anyone here who saw the original?

From what I've seen of the stills and clips, I just have no interest. It seems much more aggressive and confrontational. And when I saw two contrasting dance photos, the original and the current, I realized that the costumes from the original included those wonderful dresses with the swirling full skirts, which added a lot of visual flair.

When it comes to remakes of old movies, Hollywood only wants to make them remade to politically correct them. I'm not interested because I already know many things will be changed from the original.

I saw the original. Never forget it. Cried for a week. Saw the 60 minutes piece and have no interest in going.

I have no interest. They changed Jerome Robbins' choreography and changed some of the lyrics. Since the original was just a modern Romeo and Juliet, they should have just changed the title to something else if they wanted to update the themes.

Opinion:
West Side Story spoke truth.
We had our own borders right here in New York
before they were built along the U.S. border.
One of the greatest stories captured on celluloid.
I would hate to see it butchered by political correctness.
The youth of today may no longer relate to times of long ago
and may be bored quickly by this performance but if they spend
the time they might just get to understand why differences
exists between people whether it be because of age, culture,
skin color or politics.

West Side Story, you loved the original; now come fall in love with the WOKE version.

Now in 3-D. Less choreography — more white-shaming!

I have only seen the Natalie Wood movie, I cried.

I have no desire to see this new production and also no desire to share the air with a couple thousand people for two hours in this environment of contagion. No large crowds in enclosed spaces for me.

Depends which half.

I'll take the big foam finger #1.

Save the other half for Spielberg.
